The fencing in the backyard makes it safe and fun for any little ones wanting to play, plus, the good sized back yard gives plenty of PRIVACY for eating and grilling, socializing, or just relaxing with a cocktail, under our Veranda. There is a common area behind our home with trees and a trail!!!! It’s a great place to hike or bike, so be sure and bring your bicycles!!!!! We do allow a dog, but there is an extra $100 pet charge. It is within a 5-10 min drive from LANL (5 min to LANL badge office), a 2-3 min drive to the Smiths grocery store, a 3 minute drive to the YMCA, a 1 min drive to the Urgent Care (great facility, but hopefully you'll never have to use it!), a 1 min drive to the hospital, a 2 minute drive (or 6 min walk) to the Aquatic center with an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool. The closest trails to the condo are the trails in the Acid canyon behind the swimming pool and the nature center (6 minutes walking). Despite the name, which probably bears some historical significance, Acid canyon trails are local favorites, especially in summer. Be prepared to spend a few hours exploring them, and carry a bear spray with you, as locals are not the only ones enjoying trails. Wild life is abundant here in Los Alamos! Pepper/bear spray is available at the bike shop located at 106 Central Park Square and at Metzgers. The condo should have all you need, but in case we've missed anything, please give us a call and we'll bring it! Both the dressing room and the upstairs bathroom have doors for privacy. The upstairs is a totally private retreat. This Studio is on 5 private acres with its own driveway and WIFI. There is another house on the property that is totally separate. This is a rural property but only 10min. to town. The Studio is located 1.5miles on a well-maintained dirt rd off the paved main road- Camino la Tierra - we suggest front wheel drive or 4WD during the winter months. Tons of biking and hiking trails right out the door. Please note: since this is minimum 30 day rental there is no scheduled garbage/recycling pick-up for this property. There are private bins outside the property for trash and recycling. The Buckman road recycling center is a 5min. drive on the way to town for guests to depose trash and recycling at.
